  1. This book is a good way of seeing life though others lifes when times are bad, and is so well written that you bond with the characters in a way that allows you to relate to them. I would recommed this book to anyone. If there were a sequel I garentee that people will buy it. The way you left the story leaving us all wondering was genius. I hope to be seeing a sequel soon!

  2. This was one of the best books I have ever read. I finished it last night, and it made me consider so many issues that I couldn’t stop thinking about it all day, and am still concerned about the issues in it as I write this. I am sure that if there was a sequel, it would really sell well. The main thing that really hit me was that I didn’t realize that anyone, gay or straight, could go through something like this. Thank you for a great insight into the real world. Someone should make a movie out of this!

  3. I’m reading this book at the moment and i believe there should be another to see the relationship build between emma and dante.

  4. I enjoyed the first book: noughts and crosses, but I felt that it got very tired after the second book, the first book should have been left on its own as it had some suspense and didn’t need anything else to follow it up.

  5. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I was never a fan of reading & I’ve always preferred to watch movies. I saw this book in Waterstones, saw the front cover & i knew i HAD to buy this book! I was always a fan of Family drama/Real life books. I’ve never read a book about a boy who’s left with a baby so again i knew i had to read it. I read the book in August & since then I’ve been repeatedly reading it over again! This book made me cry SO much and it made me laugh & smile. Even thinking about how brilliant it is now makes me go all teary! I LOVE the fact that there’s a gay brother in the book because it shows how people will react to gay people.
This is my first & only Malorie Blackman book I’ve read but i promise this wont be the last!
I DEFINITIVELY would encourage any teenager to go and buy this book or borrow it from a local library!

  21. This is THE BEST book I have ever read. I guessed who Adam’s bf was:D. Even better than Noughts and Crosses!!!!!

  22. PLEASE Make a sequel to this book! PRETTY PLEASE! I cried 2 times when I read this book, when Adam got beaten up and when It ended! You need to do another one about Emma growing up and Dante finally getting a job or writing that book for other Dads who have had a baby dumped on them and about Adam and Josh! 🙂 This book was AMAZING! Highly recommend it!

  25. Such a cliffhanger at the ending! I know you can’t just say lets do a sequel, but there is so much potential in these books!

  26. this book is awesome!!!!! And i think it should last forever, I have read lots of books and I mean a lot for a young person. I think your writing is amazing and this book made me realize that. If you are stuck for ideas (your probably not) but I think a prequel may be good about meeting Melanie or Melanie coming back to get Emma. You can’t stop now it is just too great. 🙂

  27. I saw the book trailer and i already read the book a few months ago.. but i have to ask… I’m not racist, it’s just curiosity .. Dante is black??

  28. My mate gave me this book and ive just finished it made me cry amazing book now ordered some of your other books! But I can’t see the trailer which is advertised on the back 🙁 but really loved your writing 🙂

  29. Can I simply say what a comfort to uncover someone that genuinely knows what they
are talking about online. You actually know how to bring an issue to light and make it important.
A lot more people must look at this and understand this side of your story.
I can’t believe you are not more popular since you surely possess the gift.

  30. This book is absolutely AMAZING!!! Please make more and a DVD, I cried so much, best book I’ve ever read, you should advertise it more!!!!!

  31. This was without a doubt, the best book I have ever read! It made me cry, laugh, and I really believed in all the characters the whole time I was reading it – amazing. This is powerful writing.

  32. she should make a second one called “but men do” which is about like when his old girlfriend comes back and try’s fighting for the parental rights after 4 years she was lying and actually went to university to have her dream

  33. On page 101, I literally can’t put it down, it’s, like, glued to the palms of my hands. Malorie, your righting engrosses me and I love every moment of this book, can’t wait to finish it. Thanks for the brilliant read, xoxo Macy

  34. I love this book please right a sequel because I want to know if Emma’s mum comes back to take Emma and what happens with Adam and josh

  35. This book was absolutely AMAZING! I have already read the whole Noughts & Crosses series and I thought Malorie couldn’t write a better book! I was wrong! This one was just as good and(like the N&C’s series) I read the book in about two nights! I really hope that Malorie writes a sequel for this book, like when Emma is older or when Josh comes out of jail and what happens between Adam and Josh! MALORIE IS THE BEST AUTHOR EVER! Would DEFINETLY recomend to anyone! The topics in her books make you see everybody as equal and are really thought-provking! L 😀

  36. Please do a sequel for this i haven’t read any books like this in ages…. it really relates to modern teenagers in the streets of UK.
