Years after a violent war destroyed much of the world, Kaspar has grown up in a society based on peace and harmony. But beyond the city walls, a vicious band of rebels are plotting to tear this peace apart. It is up to the Guardians – an elite peacekeeping force – to protect the city, without ever resorting to the brutal methods of their enemy.

When Kaspar joins the Guardians, he has a chance encounter with a rebel – a beautiful girl named Rhea. Haunted from that moment on by strange visions and memories – memories that could only belong to Rhea – he realises he hasn’t been told the truth about what the rebels really want, and what he’s really fighting for.

  1. This was an amazing book! it was action-packed and really gripping but had a meaningful ending. I highly reccomend this! Especially if you enjoyed books such as the Hunger Games.

  2. This book bangs! I was litrally close to tears when the book came to an end. I dont know where you get your ideas from malorie but they’re wonderful. Keep on writting.

  3. i have rad about 188 pages of noble conflict and its already my favourite book, noughts and crosses didn’t pike my interest as i am black seeing blacks rule in such a negative way hit home and i barely finished book1 but i feel that noble conflict deserves more praise as it is an amazing book and it had great comedy and charachters along with tragedys love and a deep and dark conspiracy lying beneath the surface.
My favourite part is the whole triangle of Kaspar,Rhea and Mac(Mackenzie) it’s just so cool to see how the other Guardians react to Kaspar when he is with Mac and how Mac reacts when she finds out about Rhea but I would really have liked to see Rhea and Kas leaving the city hand in hand in pursuit of adventure in the Badlands but OH WHY MALORIE you have made that merely impossible as the end(I skipped ahead to the last 2 pages) hints Mac and Kaspar being together.
I am an un-published author called J Smith who loved this work and could understand the comedy as it is my style of work as i work with supernatural love/horror storys that (as my friends say) are worse that Justin Bieber on repeat, in the aspect of the horror. at one point someone is stabbed in the back and kicked into pit and snakes but i have gone of topic here, im trying to say that from an authors persrective(a quite different author I shall add)that Malorie Blackman’s work is a pure spark of marveled genius that i wish to find in myself I read in about 5 days over school which for me is quite bad but once again this is about Mal as she is a Guardian herself. Noble conflict is a 10/10 I love it
P.S I am 12 and have writed 12 books all at least 400 long to follow the Blackman way 🙂
